The Mermaid Beach Health Club was designed to support a “holistic” approach to Health and Fitness. The new Centre includes a 25m heated pool for lap swimming and aqua-aerobic training, as well as gym and studio facilities, the emphasis was on ‘wellbeing’ and individual programming.
Support areas for assessment, health education as well as a fully equipped Day Spa were over and above the average health club.
The facility was also designed to be the Living Well model for other locations around the world and BHA developed a landmark statement to support the Living Well corporate image.
The pool was designed as 6 very wide lands and whilst not designed, allowed for a mix of aqua-aerobics and lap swimming. To accommodate, the aqua-aerobics the pool was constructed with a flat floor.
A 10 person spa pool was located on the pool concourse and a sauna / steam room located adjacent to the amenities.
