TAFE CLC's Rollout continues, with new facility under construction in Byron Bay
Apr 2022
To support regional vocation training TAFE NSW has been rolling out the new facilities across regional NSW to provide students and employees greater choice and access to the world class learning opportunities. A design model was developed that aims to allow access to practical training, digital resources and support services for students conveniently located close to where students live and work. Each facility has been designed to incorporate digitally enabled technologies, such as simulations and virtual reality experiences along with flexible learning spaces that allow experiential reel world physical training. Over the last four years we have been working with TAFE NSW in the roll out of these new facilities. over this time we have completed 14 facilities. The initial tranche included refurbishment of existing buildings in Tenterfield, Glen Innes, Quirindi, Coonabarabran and Singleton. These projects transformed existing building stock into new technology enabled Connected Learning Centres. These where followed by new facilities in a second tranche at Bourke, Bega, Narrandera, Deniliquin, Corowa, Grenfell, Scone, Yamba and Murwillumbah. The third tranche followed with new facilities constructed at Nambucca Heads and Tomaree. Brewster Hjorth Architects are currently working with TAFE NSW on the new facility at Byron Bay which is currently under construction.
